Bring me your drama, mama. Bring me your trauma. Bring me your soul. I know there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and when you chose this incarnation, you knew exactly what you were doing. No mistakes.

But being part of the global team working on acceptance and inclusion is a tough calling. The revolution is going great (in some parts of the world), but there have been battle wounds.

Maybe you need help with:

Reading is fundamental. ​

One of the things I am the very best at is reading how your energy moves from moment to moment as you share with me what you are struggling with. Every thought, emotion, and experience you have, animates as a play of energy + consciousness as you express yourself. I look at where you get blocked, and where your beauty is coming through and coherent.

And, yes, I binge watched all 11 seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race during the covid-19 lockdown. I might even be re-watching some seasons...

My Story

I was the first family member my brother came out to. He told me when he was __ and I was __. 

We used to raid our mom’s closet and dress up in her chic 60’s and 70’s outfits. He always got the best jewelery! I didn’t think that was weird. It was just fun!

​He’s my best friend. But we had to work on it.

​As a country mouse (that’s me walking barefoot and picking herbs in my back field) and a city mouse (that’s him in his downtown TO highrise overlooking the CN tower, just around the corner from Church Street), we still have our sibling chicanes.

I'll never forget the time he came to stay with me in my ‘cabin in the woods’ with a composting toilet. “Visiting you is like going camping!”

We lost our mom to cancer when I was 24 and Jeff was 27. So we became each other’s greatest ally and go-to person, even though we are very different. 

Jeff is a self-professed geek who loves to spend hours playing fantasy computer games online with his friends. He needs to exercise his imagination daily.

I’m a total crunchy-granola, who avoids her computer as much as possible, and spends hours out in nature sniffing the daisies like Ferdinand (he is a totally gay bull). I need physical exercise daily and spiritual immersion!

I've attended Toronto pride with him and gone clubbing during the rave craze of the '90's.

When I spent a year at university in Halifax, I discovered (of course) the best club was the gay bar because of the sense of freedom and non-judgement. It was also a place I could go as a young woman and not get hit on, but still get great dance partners!

My brother was the editor of Pink Play Mags for 5 years. The owner, Antoine, hired me to be the From the Heart columnist. I wrote quarterly articles for 5 years, from Winter 2009, to the end of World Pride Toronto, Autumn 2014.
